dc.description.abstractتشهد الديمقراطية تراجعا في جودتها في اغلب دول العالم خاصة منذ بداية القرن 21 بالمقابل تشهد الشعبوية صعودا وانتشارا واسعا ليس فقط في الديمقراطيات الناشئة ولكن حتى في الديمقراطيات العريقة، وعليه تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى توضيح اسباب تراجع الديمقراطية في العالم والاخفاقات التي عرفتها والتي شكلت اسبابا رئيسية لصعود الشعبوية، مع التركيز على طبيعة التهديد الذي يشكله صعود الشعبوية على تأكل الديمقراطية، وقد تم التوصل الى أن الشعبوية تهدد استقرار الديمقراطية في العالم وأنه تهديد لا يرقى إلى حد تهديد وجودها، ولكن له انعكاسات سلبية على مؤسساتها وآليات عملها وبالتالي على جودة الديمقراطية على المدى البعيد. The democracy is declining in quality in most countries of the world, especially since the beginning of the 21st century. Populism is rising and spreading, not only in emerging democracies, but even in ancient democracies. This study therefore aims to illustrate the causes of the decline in democracy in the world and the failures it has identified as the main causes of populism's rise, focusing on trying to determine the extent of the threat, that populism poses to the erosion of democracy.
